Alajajian Marcoosi Architects requested that an acoustic evaluation be performed on a residential construction drawing set. The location of the construction was near a major highway and the Los Angeles Building Code Manual requires that interior community noise levels remain below 45dBA.

The architectural drawings were reviewed and the construction and materials of the exterior wall assemblies were determined. A combination of mathematical and software modeling of the environment and assemblies was used to deterimine if the wall assemblies were sufficient to meet the 45dBA CNEL requirements. The results were prepared in a report and presented to the client for submittal to the city.
